Senior Medical Writer (Medical Affairs)
This role offers the opportunity to take a leading scientific writing position within a dynamic medical communications environment, supporting pharmaceutical and medical device clients across global therapeutic areas. The Senior Medical Writer will be responsible for producing high-quality, scientifically accurate content that supports medical affairs and commercial objectives. Working closely with cross-functional teams, the role combines writing expertise with strategic input across client projects, including congresses, advisory boards, and educational initiatives. The position plays a key part in ensuring scientific integrity, regulatory compliance, and clarity of communication across deliverables. It also involves direct client interaction, contributing to pitches and project development. Accountabilities:
Lead the development of scientifically accurate medical content, ensuring clarity, consistency, and compliance across materials supporting clients in Medical Affairs and related commercial initiatives.
Conduct in-depth literature research and data analysis to support content creation, regulatory submissions, and pitch development for new projects.
Serve as the lead writer on assigned accounts, collaborating with design, UX, animation, and editorial teams to ensure scientific integrity across all deliverables.
Participate in client interactions, advisory boards, workshops, and congress activities, providing scientific expertise and capturing content requirements and feedback.
Edit, review, and validate medical copy for accuracy, grammar, style consistency, and alignment with regulatory and branding standards.
Support project planning activities, including budget estimation, workload prioritization, and coordination with project managers to ensure timely delivery.
Mentor junior writers and contribute to the development and optimization of editorial standards and workflows.
Requirements:
Minimum of 4+ years of experience in medical writing or medical communications within an agency or life sciences environment.
Strong understanding of clinical research, drug development processes, and regulatory requirements relevant to medical and scientific content.
Excellent written, verbal, analytical, and editing skills with strong attention to detail and scientific accuracy.
Proven ability to engage with healthcare professionals and scientific experts in client-facing settings.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Collaborative mindset with experience working in cross-functional teams including design, UX, and editorial functions.
