Our client is seeking a highly experienced Design Director to join a growing, design-led luxury residential studio. This role offers the opportunity to shape creative direction, drive studio operations, and play a key leadership role in the firm’s long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and evolve the studio’s creative vision across all projects.
- Oversee projects from concept through installation, ensuring design integrity.
- Develop and guide strong, cohesive design narratives.
- Act as a senior client-facing lead for presentations and key project moments.
- Collaborate on project scope, positioning, and pricing strategy.
- Review and refine design deliverables to meet quality standards.
- Mentor and manage team members, fostering growth and accountability.
- Ensure teams deliver on timelines, milestones, and design excellence.
- Support staffing, workflow planning, and project prioritization.
- Identify inefficiencies and implement operational improvements.
- Balance design ambition with budgets, feasibility, and timelines.
- Act as a key extension of leadership to support decision-making.
Skills & Experience:
- 10+ years in high‑end residential interior design.
- Strong, refined design sensibility with publication‑level work.
- Confident client‑facing presence and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated team leadership and mentoring experience.
- Operationally minded with strong workflow and process awareness.
- Ability to balance creative and commercial priorities.
- Calm, decisive, and solutions‑oriented under pressure.
- Collaborative, low‑ego approach with high accountability.
- Based in or close to the Bay Area (Hybrid schedule).
