PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Professional Educator License (PEL) as required by the State of Illinois.
DESCRIPTION
- Submit a copy of the script to the activities director for approval for the summer prior to the scheduling meetings and before purchasing production rights.
- Have a production personnel/budget meeting with the activities director prior to the pre‑production meeting and before verbally offering service providers a monetary amount for specialist services.
- Coordinate with the technical director regarding the set design, properties, and costumes before any items are purchased.
- Secure service providers, processing them through the activities director, notifying them of the pre‑production and post‑production meetings, and providing scripts.
- Manage all production paperwork and production specific needs.
- Design and order posters and programs/playbills.
- Hold auditions, post the cast list, have students accept/decline their roles, make casting adjustments, post the final cast list, and hold a cast production meeting.
- Develop, distribute, and post a rehearsal schedule to the cast and the activities director.
- Supervise actors during and after rehearsals/performances.
- Clean up the facility after each meeting, rehearsal, and performance.
- Secure the facilities after each meeting, rehearsal, and performance so no student has access.
- Store all costumes and properties in the loft after the production closes.
- Secure service providers for post‑production meeting (timesheets and itemized receipts).
- Submit a cast list/program to the Thespian sponsor to verify hours for cast and crew.
