The Opportunity
- Our business purpose is to restore health and improve quality of life through the design and provision of device and management solutions in Cardiac Rhythm Management. We aim to lead the markets we serve by delivering solutions that enable outcomes that advance the standard of care.
- We are hiring a Regional Sales Director (RSD) for the Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) team based in Dallas, TX. This position reports to the US Area Vice President.
- The RSD must live in the geography of the region and may travel in excess of 50% depending on staffing and regional demands.
- Primary management responsibility for directing the CRM sales of Abbott products and/or services in a specified region or major geographical area, including identifying market opportunities and establishing sales and clinical objectives. The RSD leads and coaches the activities of territory managers and clinical specialists to develop a high-performing team for commercial and clinical trial activity. The RSD will meet training requirements to support CRM procedures and provide clinical coaching. Additional leadership responsibilities include contract negotiation, customer engagement, performance management and clinical competency development. The RSD will coach on CRM procedures to achieve safe outcomes and drive continuing education within the region. The RSD will set the regional sales strategy to meet franchise goals.
What You’ll Work On
- Support and achieve the regional sales plan.
- Develop a safe learning environment and an uncompromised positive team culture.
- Foster an entrepreneurial and supportive work environment through weekly team calls, discovery workshops, regional meetings, and individual discussions.
- Recruit, onboard, coach for sales and clinical performance and develop direct reports.
- Foster a diverse workplace that enables all participants to contribute to their full potential and assist in quarterly goals, development plans, and annual performance reviews.
- Drive proper targeting and customer and account engagement planning to advance the commercial sales process.
- Prepare regional sales forecasts and participate in determining market potential and CRM sales expense estimates for the region.
- Provide accurate sales forecasting and drive accountability.
- Conduct quarterly field travel with the team to visit customers, ensuring clinical competencies and sales advancement.
- Propose strategies and initiatives to improve franchise focus and support.
- Build strategic cross-functional partnerships to advance franchise and organizational objectives (marketing, training, enterprise accounts, and clinical trials).
- Demonstrate strong organizational and operational skills and monitor compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Assist with case support, proctor planning and conflict resolution; oversee annual region budget and compliance; approve direct report expense reports and address compliance issues as needed.
- Complete vendor credentialing for hospital access as required.
- Remain current on developments in relevant fields, regulatory requirements, company products and markets, and industry trends; resolve problems and implement preventive actions as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing or equivalent.
- 8+ years of progressively responsible work experience in tachycardia/bradycardia product areas or related discipline, including direct CRM product sales experience preferred.
- Proven and documented sales and clinical performance in the cardiology/cardiovascular field.
- Ability to lead workstreams and initiatives using critical thinking skills.
- Ability to provide direction and monitor progress of direct reports in clinical and sales objectives, quality, outcomes, and sales performance measures.
- Ability to operate in a quality system environment with awareness of governmental regulations.
- Solution-oriented with a fact-based approach to problem solving.
- Ability to satisfy all vendor credentialing requirements, which may include vaccination for COVID-19. If accommodations are needed, please discuss with HR.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Prior commercial and clinical trial experience in cardiology/cardiovascular.
- Documented successful leadership of sales and clinical teams.
- Abbott cardiovascular experience is a plus.
