Overview

Reporting to the Senior Director of Creative & Brand Strategy, the Associate Director of Graphic Design and Brand Tools is responsible for driving creative excellence of BMS brand across key enterprise platforms, while also stewarding the implementation of tools across Corporate Communications and Affairs that democratize design, elevating the collective brand output across the organization. The Associate Director will serve as a creative consultant across in‑house teams that deliver initiatives connected to the corporate brand. They are an exceptional designer that works well within a fast‑paced environment, while negotiating priorities to protect the creative development process. The role requires a leader who is a passionate designer, creative director and great collaborator across teams, to ensure all Communicators are equipped to drive creative excellence. This role will partner closely with the design, omni‑channel and brand studio production teams to ensure all creative strategy, execution and tools connect to broader brand strategy, principles and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead design and creative direction for internal and external corporate brand, supporting Tier 1 & 2 enterprise initiatives, while leading Tier 3.
  • Collaborate closely with designers, content creators and agency partners to drive creative direction.
  • Work with external agency partners on design projects that link to corporate brand.
  • Responsible for the creative design aesthetic and ensuring assets adhere to brand guidelines.
  • Enforce companywide brand standards to maintain the design integrity of internal and external marketing materials and communications.
  • Drive discovery, development and implementation of design tools that elevate creative across high‑frequency and visible platforms such as PowerPoint presentations and digital design.
  • Collaborate on artistic direction of corporate content across omni‑channel (internal and external).
  • Work efficiently and effectively with Project Manager to keep projects on track and meet deadlines necessary to achieve business goals and objectives.

Key Skills

  • Minimum 7‑10 years corporate or agency experience in design.
  • Degree in Graphic Design, Advertising, Marketing or Communications.
  • Exceptional collaboration skills and outstanding communication skills.
  • Portfolio demonstrates a body of work encompassing 360 creative campaigns (content and advertising) with knowledge of new media formats.
  • A strong understanding of design, copy, and photography/videography best practices.
  • An intimate understanding of brand development and multi‑channel communications concepts.
  • Experience in directing photography, illustration and video.
  • Comfortable with explaining concepts to cross‑functional teams.
  • Passionate about brands, ideas, storytelling, and experiential.
  • Experience with a variety of software and digital platforms; proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite.

Compensation Overview

Princeton - NJ - US: $156,660 - $189,829

The starting compensation range(s) for this role are listed above for a full‑time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills, where the job is performed, the employee’s work schedule, job‑related knowledge, and experience. Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.

Paid Time Off

Occupancy

BMS has an occupancy structure that determines where an employee is required to conduct their work. Site‑essential roles require 100% of shifts onsite at your assigned facility. Site‑by‑design roles may be eligible for a hybrid work model with at least 50% onsite at your assigned facility. For these roles, onsite presence is considered an essential job function and is critical to collaboration, innovation, productivity and a positive company culture. For field‑based and remote‑by‑design roles the ability to physically travel to visit customers, patients or business partners and to attend meetings on behalf of BMS as directed is an essential job function.
