Job Overview

The Head of Marketing Capabilities is responsible for driving and implementing best-in-class marketing technology platforms and tools to deliver against Citi’s Services strategic vision of generating always‑on and personalized marketing offers. The individual in this role will inform, plan, and deliver Citi Services Marketing’s technology stack to attract new prospects and engage our institutional clients. This role is critical as it builds a team to define and deliver on Citi Services’ MarTech roadmap designed for ease of use, automation, speed to market, and seamless digital customer experiences that are personalized and relevant. The MarTech stack will enable data‑driven decisions with automation, streamline processes that drive operating efficiency, and improve business performance across Citi Services line of business, while aligning to the centralized Marketing function.

The job requires a deep understanding of technology and the landscape regarding tools and services, architectural design, and key players such as Adobe Experience Manager, Seismic, Workfront, Salesforce, Oracle CRM, Data Architecture platforms (AWS, Azure), Marketing Automation, Tableau, Snowflake, and Pega. The leader will have strong passion and experience with driving large‑scale transformation initiatives and will build strong partnerships with Business Strategy, Technology, and Analytics organizations to design robust marketing journeys and transformation roadmaps that drive end‑state commercial business objectives. The individual will be a data‑driven decision maker with proven communication skills, hyper‑focused on problem solving, and experienced with delivering multi‑year transformation projects.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Define and drive the strategic agenda for the Services Marketing organization’s MarTech roadmap, mobilizing key partners across the end‑to‑end ecosystem, inclusive of near‑term and long‑term priorities for critical domains such as campaign management & workflow, content management, channel management & delivery, and audience management.
  • Design and deliver a prioritized MarTech stack capabilities and infrastructure strategies roadmap aligned with the Services business priorities, the Marketing Innovation and Content team initiatives, firm‑wide policies, and global regulations.
  • Secure necessary resources and processes to deliver on plan, including Adobe content stack for dynamic, personalized digital content and testing capabilities, and next‑generation offer management infrastructure for real‑time, always‑on, customer‑level promotional offers.
  • Manage the oversight of marketing platform capabilities and infrastructure that span traditional and non‑digital marketing needs.
  • Track and manage multi‑year and multi‑million investment for the MarTech Book of Work.
  • Design, socialize, and adopt proper control and operational models upon migration to new capabilities and establish automated reporting and analytics to deliver robust insights on transformation KPIs.
  • Appropriately assess risk in business decisions, demonstrating consideration for the firm’s reputation, safeguarding Citigroup, clients, and assets, driving compliance, and effectively supervising others to maintain high standards.

Skills and Competencies

  • 15+ years of experience leading digital transformation and integration of MarTech projects including Seismic, Workfront, Adobe AEM, offer management tools, Pega, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, etc.
  • 8‑10+ years of managerial experience with high‑performing Marketing Technology solution teams.
  • Experience with marketing technology architecture, backend systems, data dependencies, and front‑end interfaces required for digital marketing campaigns.
  • Analytical and conceptual thinker with the ability to plan and execute strategy with demonstrable results.
  • Customer‑centric, tech‑savvy product leader who drives solutions focused on outstanding experiences using agile and efficient processes.
  • Executive leadership skills and success in conveying complex concepts and business impacts to leadership audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with success in building collaborative relationships and influencing development and execution of initiatives.
  • Expert knowledge of industry and direct competitors’ products to drive commercial objectives and strategic direction.
  • Champion of change management, educating the wider marketing organization on new capabilities to drive strategy.

Education

Bachelor’s / University degree, Master’s degree preferred

Salary Range

$170,000.00 – $300,000.00
