The Product Sales Sr Specialist is a strategic professional responsible for driving Commercial Card sales and origination across the Commercial Bank segment. This role combines deep product expertise with a strong new business acquisition mindset, focusing on winning new mandates and accelerating revenue growth. The individual serves as a recognized authority in Commercial Card solutions and leads go-to-market execution, client engagement, and deal origination. They contribute to business strategy by translating market insights into actionable sales initiatives and delivering tailored solutions that address client working capital, payment, and expense management needs. This role has significant impact on regional performance, influencing product penetration, wallet capture, and overall business growth.
Responsibilities
Origination & Revenue Growth
- Lead end-to-end origination efforts for Commercial Card solutions (T&E and Payables) within the Commercial Bank client segment
- Proactively identify, target, and win new-to-bank and new-to-product clients
- Develop and execute client-specific sales strategies to drive pipeline growth, increase wallet share, and deepen relationships
- Maintain a strong focus on pipeline conversion, deal execution, and revenue realization
Sales Strategy & Execution
- Define and execute a Commercial Card sales strategy aligned with Commercial Bank priorities
- Drive market expansion and client penetration initiatives, with emphasis on high-growth sectors and geographies
- Lead sales campaigns by segment, client tier, and product to increase adoption and usage
- Embed best‑in‑class sales practices, ensuring consistency and scalability across markets
Client Engagement & Deal Leadership
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients on payment strategies, working capital optimization, and digital transformation
- Structure and lead complex deal execution, tailoring solutions to client needs
- Partner closely with Bankers to co‑own client relationships and drive joint origination
Product Partnership
- Collaborate with Product Management to ensure offerings remain competitive in functionality, pricing, and client experience
- Provide market feedback to inform product innovation and enhancements
- Support rollout and commercialization of new card capabilities and digital solutions
Portfolio Management & Analytics
- Conduct wallet sizing and opportunity assessments to identify expansion opportunities
- Monitor performance against targets and implement corrective strategies where needed
Risk & Governance
- Partner with Credit Risk, Legal, Compliance, and other control functions to ensure sound risk management and governance
- Drive responsible growth, balancing risk/reward in all business decisions
- Ensure adherence to policies, regulatory requirements, and Citi’s Code of Conduct
Leadership & Collaboration
- Influence and guide stakeholders across Banking, Product, and Coverage teams
- Share success cases and drive commercial excellence across the platform
Qualifications
- 6-10 years of experience
- Proven Commercial Card / Payments expertise with strong understanding of treasury solutions and buying centers
- Demonstrated success in client origination, new business acquisition, and revenue growth, with a strong hunter mentality
- Experience working with Commercial Bank clients in partnership with Relationship Managers
- Strong client‑facing, communication, and deal execution skills, including solution structuring and closing
- Solid commercial acumen and cross‑functional collaboration, including exposure to credit and risk discussions
Education
- Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred
