Part-Time Classifieds Page Designer
Summit Daily News and Steamboat Pilot & Today are hiring a part‑time classifieds page designer. No design experience is necessary, but the ideal candidate will be experienced with a variety of computer programs, a quick learner and detail‑oriented. The work takes place on deadline each afternoon Monday‑Friday, starting at 2 p.m. for Summit Daily and 3 p.m. for Steamboat Pilot & Today. The classifieds section of each paper should take about 30 minutes to 1 hour depending on the day, and all sections are due to press by 5 p.m. Total estimated hours per week are 5‑10. The position can be based in either Summit or Routt counties.
- Lay out classifieds ads according to predetermined templates.
- Create well‑designed, well‑presented pages following established design styles.
- Follow the workflow to meet all deadlines.
- Attention to detail.
- Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong computer knowledge/skills.
- Ability to work afternoons (no holiday or weekend work).
Compensation: This part‑time position is expected to work about 5‑10 hours per week during afternoons and evenings. Rate: $20 per hour.
