Job Summary
Central Park Dance is currently seeking experienced and reputable Jazz Teachers for its long-running school in Scarsdale, New York! Located at our studio less than 20 miles from NYC, this role will be responsible for leading jazz classes for ages (7-10) and adv. beginner through pre-professional levels. The successful candidate will be passionate about teaching these levels. They will also have the opportunity to choreograph for our performances throughout the year!
Candidates MUST have experience teaching jazz in any of the above age groups in order to apply.
The Central Park Dance curriculum is provided to all instructors.
Weekday and weekend opportunities are available.
Responsibilities
- teach jazz classes, including preparation and cleanup of equipment
- provide a safe & welcoming environment for all students
- communicate effectively with students, parents, and other staff members
- monitor & assess student's progression, provide feedback
- participate in staff meetings and professional development meetings
- adhere to all safety regulations
Requirements
- strong understanding of training development & progression for mentioned age groups
- strong communication & interpersonal skills
- able to motivate & inspire students
- experience educating mentioned age groups
- strong background in jazz
