Video Monitor Technician

The Video Monitor Technician (VMT) is responsible for continuous observation and surveillance of assigned patients. The VMT will be responsible for verbally redirecting patients from engaging in at risk behaviors and providing RNs and other clinicians with immediate notification of any assistance needed. Responsibilities include, but may change over time, initiating and discontinuing monitoring equipment on admission, transfer, or discharge. Perform configuration as necessary, clerical duties related to admission, discharge, and documentation of patient information, answer telephone and communicate clearly when receiving information from units or providers. An essential function is the use of clear and complete communication with unit personnel when delivering information about changes in patient. The VMT will orient and mentor new staff members and serve as a resource for training and troubleshooting.
