Responsibilities

Work with cross‑functional teams to ensure exhibitions reflect NMAI philosophy and mission, and that content is organized, coherent and accessible to broad audiences.

Develop and manage the exhibition production and installation process, including approaches, schedules, and cost estimates for major exhibits, meeting NMAI, SI and museum industry standards.

Work with museum management and cross‑functional teams to define and maintain project elements: scope, schedule, budget, goals, educational objectives, roles, responsibilities and ground rules for operations and decision‑making.

Serve as central point of contact for all phases of project planning and implementation, preparing documentation for senior management review.

Communicate project status regularly to team members and senior managers.

Ensure exhibitions accurately reflect the philosophy and mission of NMAI.

Qualifications
Specialized Experience:

One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS‑11, involving use of Native knowledge as a primary resource to manage, plan, and develop museum exhibitions from conceptual phase through design, production, and installation, ensuring projects are brought to completion within scope, schedule and budget.

Education:

No education qualification requirement.
