Position Summary
This position is responsible for analyzing, improving and sustaining end-to-end manufacturing process flows. This role supports production operations, continuous improvement initiatives and special projects that align with strategic goals.
Essential Duties
Evaluate, map and optimize process flows to improve throughput, quality and cost performance
Identify and eliminate non-value-added activities using Lean and Six Sigma tools
Support the development of manufacturing standards
Research and implement new technologies, tools and methods to improve production processes
Participate in CI initiatives, including training, mentoring and facilitating projects
Collaborate with manufacturing engineering on process validation
Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors as needed
Use CAD tools to support manufacturing process improvement activities and to update/maintain plant layouts
Support and help implement TPM measures to enhance equipment reliability and reduce downtime
Create, update, and maintain technical documents, work instructions and training materials to support improvement projects and employee development
Skills and Abilities
Technical, analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to interpret process data, performance metrics and technical documentation
Proficiency in Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
Experience with 5S or 6S workplace organizational practices
Proficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD and Inventor preferred)
Excellent communication, active listening and writing skills
Strong time management and organizational abilities
Ability to lead, motivate and collaborate across teams
Education & Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, or related field
Minimum of 5 years experience in a metalworking manufacturing environment
Extensive knowledge of machining processes and Lean/Six Sigma principles
Experience leading technical, engineering or production teams
Export Control
This position requires access to export-controlled technical data or technology. Employment is contingent upon thyssenkrupp's ability to obtain any required export authorization from the appropriate government agency or agencies.
