Beginning August 1, 2026. Full-time. Nine-month appointment.
Duties
Teach guitar to undergraduate and graduate jazz performance majors.
Work with the jazz program concerning the placement and performance of guitar students within the ensembles. Coach small/large jazz ensembles. As needed, teach courses including improvisation, jazz theory, class guitar and lessons, and other courses within the jazz area.
Work closely with jazz faculty regarding recitals, hearings and juries, and perform in the faculty jazz ensemble. Maintain a record of national and international research/creative/scholarly activity while participating in service appropriate for a university faculty member. Work collaboratively with other College of Music faculty to sustain and support the quality and enrollment of both undergraduate and graduate programs.
