Position Overview
The Department of Marketing in the College of Business Administration at Marquette University invites applications for the Kellstadt Endowed Chair of Marketing to start Fall 2027. The position is for an Associate Professor (tenured or tenure-track) or Professor (tenured) depending on experience. The successful candidate will be a leading scholar with a sustained record of publications in top-tier marketing journals and an active research agenda. The Kellstadt Endowed Chair includes a dedicated stipend supporting the chair’s research and scholarly activities. Additionally, the College of Business Administration provides this role with an annual summer research stipend.
Although the standard teaching load is 2/3, a 2/2 teaching load is available for faculty who maintain sustained scholarly productivity consistent with college standards. The successful candidate will teach MARK 4110 – Marketing Management, the department’s senior capstone course emphasizing strategic marketing decision‑making through the case method. Additional teaching assignments will be determined based on departmental needs and the candidate’s expertise and interests.
The Kellstadt Chairholder is responsible for organizing the Kellstadt Lecture each year. The Kellstadt Lecture is an annual high‑visibility lecture delivered by a nationally‑recognized speaker and convenes leading academic and industry voices, including visiting scholars and media. The Kellstadt Lectures have been held every year since 1999 primarily on major marketing and public policy/public health topics.
The successful candidate will contribute to the intellectual life of the department and broader academic community through scholarly engagement and professional service activities appropriate to career stage, including editorial roles or other forms of disciplinary leadership.
The search process will include an initial review of application materials, followed by a video conference‑based interview for selected candidates. Finalists will be invited for an on‑campus visit that includes a research presentation and a teaching session on marketing management or a related topic, designed to showcase teaching style and classroom engagement.
Candidates interested in learning more about the position and Marquette University are welcome to request an informal conversation with the search committee chair, Dr. Brian Spaid (brian.spaid@marquette.edu), who will be attending the American Marketing Association Summer Academic Conference in Denver, CO in July.
