Reports to the Director of Public Relations

The PR Coordinator position is a full-time role in our Dallas or Houston office designed for an early-career communications professional who is interested in media relations, legal industry communications, and strategic storytelling. Our team operates in a hybrid work environment, working in the office two days (T/W) each week and remotely three days (M/Th/F).
Responsibilities Support account teams in the execution of public relations strategies and communications initiatives for clients
Write and edit content across a range of formats including news releases, media pitches, social media posts, and client communications
Monitor news coverage related to clients, their cases, and relevant industry developments
Actively contribute to discussions on topics, trends and associated news coverage in which our clients offer expertise
Track and compile media coverage and assist with preparing client coverage reports and activity summaries
Assist with press release preparation and coordinate distribution through online platforms such as Business Wire
Conduct research on reporters, media outlets, and industry trends to support media outreach efforts
Build and maintain media lists of journalists covering legal, business, and industry news
Assist with identifying and tracking attorney award and recognition opportunities including Chambers, Best Lawyers, Super Lawyers, Lawdragon, Benchmark Litigation, and Legal 500
Help gather materials and information needed for awards submissions and attorney recognitions
Assist with preparing monthly client activity reports summarizing media outreach, coverage, announcements, and strategic efforts
Coordinate scheduling and logistics for media interviews when needed
Support social media efforts promoting client announcements, recognitions, and thought leadership
Draft, format and upload website content highlighting client announcements, firm news, and media coverage
Maintain organized files and project materials to support client teams
Experience – Required Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field
Internship or early professional experience in public relations, journalism, marketing, or communications
Strong interest in news, media relations, and professional services communications
Digital native with a strong understanding of key social media platforms and how they are used by individuals and companies
Experience – Preferred Experience in an agency or newsroom environment
Interest in the legal industry, litigation, or business media
Familiarity with media monitoring or press release distribution platforms
