Associate Director/Director Business Development

Location: Hybrid-based out of our RTP office, although this role will be to cover the West Coast market.

Role Purpose

As our Associate Director/Director Business Development, you’ll be a senior commercial force in the life sciences market—leading high‑value, strategic new business for Mystra and our technology‑enabled consultancy. You’ll engage at the most senior levels of pharma and biotech, building relationships and deals that define Genomics’ trajectory.

A Day in the Life

  • Own and drive the most significant new commercial opportunities across pharma and biotech.
  • Build multi‑stakeholder relationships at senior and executive level, leading complex, high‑value sales cycles from first conversation to contract close.
  • Position Mystra as an essential part of customers’ R&D and data strategies, acting as a scientific partner, not just a vendor.
  • Provide sophisticated insights into the life science landscape, feeding strategic intelligence into our go‑to‑market approach.
  • Set high standards for pipeline discipline and forecasting, contributing to strategic reporting for senior decision‑making.
  • Serve as the voice of the customer to product, science and marketing, ensuring commercial approach remains grounded in value.

Who You Are

  • Substantial track record in senior‑level SaaS, digital health or enterprise technology sales to pharma or biotech, with a record of closing complex, high‑value deals.
  • Deep experience engaging with R&D and research departments inside major pharmaceutical companies, navigating senior scientific and commercial stakeholders.
  • Strong working knowledge of genetics or genomics, able to credibly discuss advanced genetic analytics for drug discovery.
  • Strategic thinker who brings market, client, and positioning perspectives into everything you do.
  • Self‑directed senior operator who thrives in a fast‑paced scale‑up environment and can chart the path without a roadmap.
  • Degree in life sciences, business or a related field; advanced degree considered an asset.

We are committed to providing a transparent, supportive, and rewarding work environment.
