Field Service Representative / Merchandiser

What you’ll do: As a Field Service Representative – Merchandiser, you will perform the Store Fulfillment and Merchandising Process at designated stores. Your day will involve starting from home, stocking products, maintaining inventory levels, and completing final store visit wrap‑ups while following all standard operating procedures (safety, work methods, cleanliness, and merchandising standards). You will also manage store inventory using our Vendor‑managed Inventory (VMI) program, ensuring all Metrie standards are met.

Provide a safe, consistent shopping experience for end consumers.

Drive in‑store sales by maintaining inventory levels, optimal product placement, and merchandising standards.

Ensure a positive customer experience through relationship and partnership building and clear knowledge of product features and usage.

Inspect fixtures, signage, branded marketing collateral, and pricing sets to verify standards, make necessary replacements on‑site, report deficiencies, and inform the Distribution Manager.

Who you are:

High school diploma or GED.

Valid and unrestricted driver’s license.

Two or more years of inventory replenishment experience in box retail or building‑materials industry (preferred).

Knowledge of inventory‑management procedures and systems.

Strong verbal and written communication skills with a variety of stakeholders.

Ability to work efficiently, independently, and without supervision while contributing as part of a remote team.

Ability to follow instructions in written and/or verbal form.

Physical Requirements

Frequent lifting and carrying of millwork products up to 50 pounds.

Pushing and pulling of drywall carts weighing 50 to 2,000 pounds.

Frequent reaching to various levels and directions for inspection and handling of products and fixtures.

Occasional use of basic hand tools such as power drills, impact guns, and power saws.

Dexterity for complex hand‑eye tasks, including moldings and door identification, keyboarding for order entry, and accurate pricing.

Continuous standing, frequent walking, stooping, bending, twisting, and occasional kneeling.

Reading of written and electronic documents and product labels.

Verbal communication to interact with management, customers, and team members.

Exposure to material handling equipment such as forklifts and drywall carts.

Use of safety equipment and personal protective equipment at the work site, including working at height.

Adherence to all applicable safety requirements.

In addition to the above:

Daily travel to and from assigned home center stores (mileage provided).
