Lead Production Technician

The Lead Production Technician position is responsible for providing daily leadership, personnel guidance and support for production work. They will be an active participant within the team and serve as the primary day-to-day downline lead. The downline lead should have a thorough working knowledge of SOP's and be able to interpret and apply Good Manufacturing Practices.
Lead Duties / Responsibilities:

Lead, Mix Master, Production Technician and Aseptic Filler Operator positions
Completing daily and weekly production goals
Organizing and leading work team(s)
Scheduling daily rotation assignments
Demonstrate self-direction and initiative
Assisting with training and mentoring new hires and temporary employees
Demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in response to changing production schedules and staffing arrangements
Ensure downline staff is in compliance with GMP, food safety, and physical safety standards
Assisting the Production Supervisor with employee reviews
Effectively communicate production updates to different levels of leadership
Observes package and product integrity
Setup and operate printing machines as needed for various tasks
Physically transferring packaging on to pallets following pallet configuration from order instructions
Ensure that the correct packaging materials are being used for the product being produced.
Track and document machine/equipment down-time
Know how to use LOTO (lockout Tagout) and apply it correctly
Comply with company provided chemical training
Use and apply 5S standards in all work areas
Understand/communicate machine/line specific KPIs and report to leadership
Own daily performance KPIs for operating production lines
Understand and adhere to all safety guidelines and GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices)
CIP, COP, and SIP before and after production
Basic Math Skills
Housekeeping/Sanitation
Forklift duties
Troubleshooting
Batching and Processing assistance
Documentation monitoring and recording assistance
Assist in allergen monitoring program
Required Skills/Abilities:

One year of experience working with machinery in a manufacturing environment is preferred
Understand the responsibility for the safe and efficient operation of the palletizer
Ability to multi-task and prioritize; strong time management skills with the ability to work without extensive supervision
Has knowledge of pallet discharging conveyors
Thorough working knowledge of all current OSHA and Safety Standards
Attention to detail
Must work well in teams and demonstrate behavior conducive to promoting strong teamwork
Must possess a positive attitude in a fast-paced production environment
Must be punctual, on site and ready for work at scheduled hours
Education and Experience:

High School degree or equivalent
Forklift certification within 3 months of hire
1-2 years experience in a Team Lead production, batching or filler role
1-2 years experience in food manufacturing facility or pharmaceutical industry
Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand and walk for 10-hour shifts
Perform repetitively or continue behavior including lifting 20-30 pounds
Occasionally lift to 50 pounds at times
Frequent bending, crouching, or twisting
Work in various adverse conditions such as tight or enclosed spaces, heights, and temperature extremes to complete work assignments
Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment 2nd Shift - 3pm-11:30pm
