Job Overview
This regional Fumigation Sales Manager—supporting our Phosphine Gases Fumigation Business—will handle all commercial aspects of partner/customer management across the Americas. The role includes the entire sales management process: order processing, forecasting, cash management, complaint resolution, opportunity management, competitive pricing, margin analysis, sales plan implementation, proposal preparation, negotiation, cylinder management, and approval coordination. The position reports to the Americas Fumigation Business Development Manager and focuses on post‑harvest fumigation of agricultural commodities and international trade.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual business targets (revenue, margin, cash, forecast accuracy). Overcome commercial and regulatory hurdles in the niche fumigation market.
Operate independently while collaborating with the regional and global fumigation team—share knowledge, write call reports, attend cross‑functional meetings.
Provide updated monthly, quarterly, and year‑end forecasts for the assigned territory.
Uncover, create, track, and close new opportunities beyond existing business.
Support budgeting for short, mid, and long‑term planning for assigned regions.
Prepare and submit monthly sales reports to the BD manager and provide Salesforce data on call reports, account plans, opportunity plans, and market information.
Manage days‑sales‑out (DSO) and resolve complaints for the region.
Visit partners/customers when necessary to support technical and business development efforts.
Develop strong relationships with partners and key end‑use customers at field and operational levels.
Investigate potential markets and co‑develop a strategic growth plan for the region with the BD manager.
Coordinate customer visits with TS&D and Business Development.
Support marketing, advertising, and social media projects for the business as directed.
Handle commercial activities: forecasting, contracts, price adjustments, order management, complaint resolution, reporting via CRM, cylinder asset management, and regulatory compliance.
Key Accountabilities
Achieve or exceed budget figures (revenue, margin, EBITDA, T&E, cash, forecast accuracy).
Develop a thorough understanding of market growth opportunities and competitive position; support strategic planning.
Operate within all Syensqo policies and procedures.
Americas Territory
Cover all accounts across the Americas, with focus on Canada and the USA.
Maintain and develop business with key partners and end users.
Build relationships with partner contacts at various levels.
Visit key customers to support operations and develop opportunities.
Engage support teams to resolve customer complaints quickly.
Propose commercial actions to win more share at existing accounts.
Support supply chain for improved cylinder management.
Manage business with distributors and fumigation service providers.
Safety Responsibilities
Proficient in Syensqo Fumigant Product Stewardship Program—technical and legal use of Phosphine gas.
Follow safety policies: Emergency Response, Visitor Safety, Housekeeping.
Commit to safety for self, colleagues, and customers.
Attend monthly safety training and obtain equipment‑specific training as needed.
Qualifications
College or University degree.
Experience in the agricultural chemical industry.
Experience in post‑harvest agriculture desirable.
Proven record managing customer expectations and building partner relationships.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Track record solving commercial problems.
Technical experience/skills an asset.
Physical Requirements
Office or home based in the USA or Canada.
Likely 3–6 trips per year in North America.
Current passport and readiness to travel within North America.
Normal business hours with flexibility to join calls at all North America times.
