Description
Seeking qualified professionals to support Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Aviation Safety. The initiative is a collaborative government‑industry effort that integrates multiple safety databases to proactively detect hazards, monitor known risks, and evaluate safety mitigations across the National Airspace System.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, draft, revise, and edit technical documentation, including reports, guidance materials, manuals, and stakeholder‑facing products

Translate complex aviation, operational, and regulatory information into clear, accessible content for Government, industry, and public audiences

Support development of technical communications and outreach materials related to aviation safety, NAS performance, and emerging technologies

Analyze and organize content to improve clarity, usability, and consistency across documentation and communication products, including 508‑compliance and accessibility‑oriented technical communications

Collaborate with technical subject matter experts and multidisciplinary teams to develop accurate, high‑quality documentation and communication products

Experience developing stakeholder‑facing communications, executive briefings, or high‑visibility outreach materials for technical or aviation programs

Demonstrated ability to translate complex aviation, operational, or regulatory concepts into clear, audience‑appropriate products for diverse stakeholder groups

Experience supporting communication strategies or outreach efforts for FAA, Government, or regulated technical programs

Experience producing or managing technical documentation or communications across multiple formats, audiences, or delivery channels

Experience working with FAA Headquarters and supporting cross‑organizational collaboration and executive‑level communications

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, journalism, history, political science or equivalent degrees are required PLUS fifteen years of experience performing the foregoing technical writing functions.

US Citizen or Green Card Permanent Resident (minimum 3+ years of U.S. residency) and Public Trust approval
