P&C Marketing Integration is focused on building Nationwide’s leadership position around “Specialized Protection with Confidence” to fuel brand choice, strengthening partner satisfaction and growth through differentiated experiences, and using data, AI, and technology to deliver smarter solutions that improve business outcomes.
Sr. Consultant, Audience Lead – This senior consultant will govern distribution partner audience strategy and activation across Salesforce, define how target segments are prioritized, sequenced, and suppressed across journeys and channels. The role will integrate Data 360 outputs in partnership with Marketing Operations, Business Unit Marketers, and other key partners to ensure consistent segmentation and activation for distribution‑partner audiences.
This hybrid position may be based in Des Moines, IA or Columbus, OH. Candidates located near a Nationwide campus will collaborate in office 2 days per week. Current Nationwide Remote Associates may also be considered.

As a Senior Consultant, you’ll develop and support marketing information capabilities and insights for production or internal business partners. You may lead business and data analytics projects, including development and maintenance of intermediate statistical models and related analyses, develop the business understanding vital for analytics projects, obtain and lead related data, perform analyses, interpret results, outline requirements for sophisticated analytical solutions, provide insights to internal clients, and help implement insights into marketing decisions. You may lead cross‑functional teams and manage multiple concurrent projects.
You also may work through one or more of the delivery cycles from initiation, solution scoping, design, development, and analytic execution through implementation. You’ll document business rules, business cases, requirements, information requirements, analytic requirements, and implementation strategy for changes and improvements to customer information and decision making.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the management of programs and portfolios to deliver analysis and operational capabilities while aligning processes with efficiency targets.
- Provide thought leadership and insights into development of business processes and system functional, non‑functional, and information requirements, ensuring alignment with the business strategy.
- Generate understanding of business processes and identify critical business metrics and information requirements for decision making.
- Lead portfolios, including meetings, results, and roadmaps; coordinate efforts of business subject‑matter specialists; conduct business alignment and scoping sessions.
- Gather, analyze, and interpret a wide variety of underlying data to support business, customer, and/or financial objectives; identify new ways to combine business data to improve processes and marketing outcomes.
- Drive initiatives to build and/or improve existing statistical models to solve business problems; define requirements for sophisticated machine‑learning models; implement testing strategy and assist in putting final models into production.
- Interpret statistical and analytical results and create a feedback loop for analysis improvement.
- Build data visualizations to support business needs.
- Design and implement qualitative and quantitative research projects and methodologies used to measure consumer perceptions and satisfaction.
- Help drive marketing action and results through interpretation and application of data and research findings.
- Conduct business implementation planning sessions and post‑implementation checkpoints with business units to ensure best‑in‑class solutions are implemented.
- Build and evolve an end‑to‑end budgeting and workflow process that will allow Marketing to become more efficient and impactful.
- Influence change and gain support from leadership and key partners for development of new processes and methods.
- Develop governance, documentation, and training around new processes.
- Increase efficiency of the organization and end‑to‑end value stream with process, data, technology, and centralization.
- Ensure senior leaders are kept advised of and impacted by implementation.
- May be responsible for associate management, including performance management, salary planning and administration, training and development, workflow and organizational planning, hiring and placement, and disciplinary actions.
May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Reporting Relationships: Reports to the Director, Associate Vice President, Vice President level or higher. This is an individual contributor role; may have opportunity to lead matrix and virtual teams.
Typical Skills and Experiences
Education: Degree in a business‑related field preferred. Post‑graduate studies a plus.
Experience: Typically 10 or more years of proven experience with analytic techniques, statistical methodologies, statistical software, and data analysis. Experience solving business problems in a large customer/prospect database environment, working with product, geographic, and demographic data to identify trends and opportunities.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Proven experience as a consultant‑level resource; experienced knowledge of the analytic lifecycle, business intelligence, database warehousing applications, structured query language, and qualitative/quantitative research methodologies.
- Extensive theoretical, practical, and industry‑specific knowledge is needed.
- Solid understanding and experience with technologies such as geocoding, data visualization software, data quality parsing and standardization tools, address cleaning tools, business intelligence software, and applications software.
- Validated understanding of purchased data sources and methodology for integrating into marketing database environments.
- Ability to integrate critical information from a variety of sources, apply and/or develop highly sophisticated principles and concepts.
- Strong communication skills, analytical working techniques, and proficiency in regression, decision trees, multivariate analysis, etc.
- Proficiency in developing ad‑hoc queries using SQL.
- Comprehension of Agile methodology framework.

Salary
National salary range for Sr Consultant, Marketing Information Management: $138,000‑$243,000. Expected starting salary range: $138,000‑$206,000.
