What does an Executive Producer do at WPP Production?
The Executive Producer will be a creative production expert and critical thinker, elevating each project regardless of scale. They will contribute to the maintenance and growth of strong team, client and agency relationships, producing work that is distinct, consistent and honors the level of style and craftsmanship that goes into every touchpoint of our brands. The Executive Producer will be a partner in the creative process to ensure success on all levels from pre‑through post‑production. The ideal candidate will push production technology limits and solve across integrated platforms, mentor clients and team producers, enforce production standards, and manage agency, client and vendor relationships with exceptional planning and organizational skills. They will liaise between the agency and suppliers, maintain fair processes, channel clear communication and deliver the product on time, in budget and with highest creative standards. The role requires 10‑15 years of experience, with deep knowledge of AI, live production, music, luxury brands and automotive is a plus. The Executive Producer reports into the Head of Production on all projects.
Responsibilities and Requirements
- Responsible for excellence in all day‑to‑day tasks, including scoping and ball‑parking creative concepts, breaking down scripts, building detailed project schedules, managing project scope, researching and securing the best production resources, music houses, quality‑controlling all deliverables, maintaining project documentation and communicating with project teams through final delivery.
- Ability to contribute to the elevation of the creative product through active participation with the team, supporting, inspiring and educating on production opportunities that apply to each project.
- Aware of top industry trends, techniques, directors, cinematographers, GCI, AI and all new technologies to elevate the creative product.
- Responsible for building critical relationships and maintaining the agency’s reputation and standard of excellence within the production industry, maintaining an active knowledge of cross‑discipline external partners.
- Ability to manage multiple, often concurrent projects.
- Trusted to lead workloads independently and manage up to the Head of Production where needed or appropriate.
- Ability to utilize industry expertise to select and negotiate with the appropriate partners based on creative, scope, budget and timeline, and identify which partner is best suited to execute the creative vision.
- Knowledgeable of compliance and client legal guidelines.
- Ability to leverage valuable experience to proactively predict issues and guide the team away from avoidable challenges during all stages of production.
- Responsible for supporting and participating in efforts to cultivate a diverse, equal and inclusive culture of production within our work.
- Ability to communicate proactively with Client, Creative, Account Services, Business Affairs and Talent Affairs on all aspects of the production, including milestones and deliverables, to keep the production process flowing smoothly.
- Able to serve as a client‑facing member of the team and articulate all aspects of production plans to varying levels of knowledge at each stage of the process.
- Ability to explain talent language and costs to both Agency and Client while staying on top of the latest talent/union information from SAG.
- A partner working closely with the Business Affairs Manager to compile final estimate and final actualisations, wrapping out efficiently at the end of each project.
- Knowledge and ability to source music partners, produce original and licensed music on behalf of clients.
The base salary for this position at the time of this posting may range from $100,000 to $230,000.
