You have years of experience in journalism with an eye for breaking and compelling news to serve our audience. You "live and breathe" news, consuming content from a wide variety of sources. You can write and produce several stories efficiently daily, covering news of the day along with original and exclusive news.Shift Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM ET - 4:00 PM ETResponsibilities Cover breaking news events, writing quickly and precisely to help solidify Fox News as the go-to site for developing storiesSource international media for stories that resonate with FoxNews.com's audience, aggregating with complete and proper attributionPursue original and exclusive stories with headlines and angles in mind, working closely with contacts and sourcesAttend press conferences, events, and other relevant gatherings to report on current events and developmentsVerify facts, sources, and information to ensure accuracy and credibility in reportingCollaborate with editors, photographers, editors, fellow reporters, and other team members to produce high-quality journalistic contentStay updated on current events, trends, and issues to pitch and pursue compelling story ideasMeet deadlines and manage time effectively to prioritize and execute assignments efficientlyAdapt to changing news priorities and contribute to coverage of breaking news and developing stories as neededAbility to travel to investigate, interview, fact check, and report on original storiesPresent all original and exclusive stories in an accessible, consistent, and compelling styleArrive to work prepared, with story ideas, pitches, and headlines in mindWhat you will need Bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field of study is preferred, or equivalent experience5+ years of experience covering the news and newsroom experience is requiredAuthor page with easily accessible bylinesStrong knowledge of AP styleA clear and crisp writing styleA strong network of sources in Washington, DCA firm grasp of current events and a desire to be precise, quick, and accurate in presenting the news to the FoxNews.com and FoxBusiness.com audienceAbility to work in a deadline-driven environment and work under pressure in a fast-paced newsroom environmentFlexibility to work on some holidays as needed; possess an on-call mentality and be prepared to work under emergency or breaking news conditionsExperience working with journalists at the international levelKnowledge of developing SEO-focused contentAbility to travel and report from the field on short noticeAbility to leverage AI tools to accelerate research, fact-gathering, and story framing in a fast-moving news cycle; Photoshop and knowledge of video editing are a plusEEO and Pay We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, gender identity, disability, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents.
