We are looking for a hardworking journalist, who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and has impeccable editorial judgment.ResponsibilitiesWork with CBS News talent, including O&Os and affiliates, to script, record and produce original social contentAct as one of the leaders on the team, advising social media producers on story priorities, production techniques and best practices, in day‑to‑day coverage, breaking news situations and during special eventsAppear on‑screen in original social videos and/or record the voice‑over trackProduce and edit original video packages for CBS News' various social media channels and the CBS News Streaming NetworkDevelop strategy for social channels and the optimization of show content for social platformsUtilize analytics to inform strategy and experimentationProduce bespoke social content with talent, either as standalone social pieces or to preview segments on the showGenerate innovative and creative ideas for ways to drive tune‑in and grow audience on socialSenior produce other producers' video packages and scriptsPerform the role of a senior producer on original production shoots in the fieldProvide supervisory coverage when necessaryCompose social headlines, articles and share language that are both highly shareable and consistent with the CBS News brandBackfill other team members as neededQualifications6 to 8 years of social media or newsroom experienceDeep familiarity with social media platforms, audiences and best practicesThe ability to write about a variety of topics in a strong, yet unbiased wayStrong writing skills with a demonstrated portfolio of published workStrong producing and editing skillsAbility to quickly and exactly subtitle video for social, using both editing platforms and the text tools within TikTok and InstagramAbility to work well with others under tight deadlinesDegree in journalism, communications or related fieldScheduleThe schedule for this shift will be Monday‑Friday from 4 p.m. to 12 a.m. ET.CompensationHiring Salary Range: $112,000.00 – $112,000.00.BenefitsAttractive compensation and comprehensive benefits packagesGenerous paid time offAn exciting and fulfilling opportunity to be part of one of Paramount's most dynamic teamsOpportunities for both on‑site and virtual engagement eventsUnique opportunities to make meaningful connections and build a vibrant community, both inside and outside the workplaceEEO StatementParamount is an equal opportunity employer (EOE) including disability/vet.
