Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Next.js Architect to join a critical, high-visibility web implementation initiative. This role requires a hands-on technical leader who can immediately take ownership of application architecture, establish best practices, and accelerate the delivery of a production-ready enterprise web platform. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Next.js App Router architecture, enterprise-scale web application performance optimization, caching strategies, and integration with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM). This is not a UI development role; instead, the architect will provide technical leadership, establish project foundations, and serve as the key bridge between frontend and content management teams.
Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with client stakeholders to understand business and technical requirements.
Architect and implement scalable, production-ready solutions using Next.js App Router.
Establish application scaffolding, routing architecture, deployment strategies, and development standards.
Design and implement advanced caching strategies to maximize performance, scalability, and user experience.
Configure cross-origin resource sharing (CORS) policies and automated cache invalidation mechanisms.
Integrate and map AEM GraphQL APIs into the Next.js application architecture.
Lead performance optimization efforts with a strong focus on achieving and maintaining high Lighthouse scores.
Partner with React developers and AEM teams to ensure seamless implementation and deployment.
Drive production readiness, release planning, and launch execution.
Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance across the project lifecycle.
Required Skills & Experience Core Architecture & Frontend Technologies

12+ years of overall software engineering experience.
10+ years of hands-on architecture and technical leadership experience.
Extensive expertise with Next.js App Router architecture.
Strong knowledge of React.js and modern frontend architecture patterns.
Experience building enterprise-scale web applications with high traffic volumes.
Performance & Optimization

Deep expertise in:

Caching strategies
Cache invalidation techniques
CDN optimization
Static and dynamic rendering strategies
Server-side rendering (SSR)
Incremental Static Regeneration (ISR)
Lighthouse performance optimization

Security & Integration

Strong experience implementing:

Cross-Origin Resource Sharing (CORS)
API integration architectures
Secure frontend application patterns
Performance-focused web delivery solutions

Deployment & Production Readiness

Experience launching large-scale production web applications.
Expertise in deployment architecture, monitoring, scalability, and operational readiness.
Ability to quickly assess existing implementations and establish production-grade architecture with minimal ramp-up time.
