Job Purpose
The Marketing Manager, working collaboratively with the Center's Director, develops and executes the short-term and long term, marketing, brand, and communication strategy and deliverables for the Myrtle Woldson Performing Arts Center and its arts presenting series and the overall ARTS at GONZAGA brand. Secondly, the Manager serves as a collaborative marketing partner with the Fine and Applied Arts programs within the College of Arts and Sciences and under the banner of ARTS at GONZAGA, these include Theatre, Music, Dance, Art, Integrated Media and the Jundt Art Museum. Finally, this position provides marketing advice and support to university organizations and external organizations renting the Myrtle Woldson Center for their events.

Essential Functions

60% - Operational Marketing Functions

Develop, coordinate, and execute the overall marketing and communication strategy and each individual performance event marketing campaign for the Center.

Align Center's marketing and communication with the Gonzaga University Marketing & Communications branding and style standards.

Oversee all Center marketing and communication platforms and mediums including web, social, digital, email, direct-mail, print media (including newspaper, magazine, programs, and brochures), radio, and television.

Manage the Center's social media accounts including Facebook and Instagram.

Write and manage Press Releases working collaboratively with University MarCom group.

Serve as creative director for all print, digital, and visual marketing.

Manage all advertising purchases for Center with traditional media outlets and digital media vendors.

Contract with vendors and independent contractors to support content creation and delivery.

Work collaboratively with university communicators and partners in key areas including website content management, social media development and strategy, and content development.

15% - Management Functions

Responsible for hiring, training and supervision of contractors, students, volunteers and part-time and full-time employees involved in marketing and communication operations of the Center.

Set hours of work based on budget. Manage employee performance on an ongoing basis throughout the year.

Ensure effective performance management for indirect reports. Create and ensure opportunities for team development through multiple mechanisms and support recognition efforts that build morale.

Steward all resources, including budget, people and time, effectively and appropriately.

Responsible and accountable for the analysis of fiscal resources required to achieve Myrtle Woldson Center objectives.

Work collaboratively with Center team to develop and support an inclusive work environment.

Ensure all staff are effectively onboarded in their role.

Actively build relationships and demonstrate a bias for collaboration.

Address and resolve conflicts.

Communicate regularly with all team members through multiple mechanisms.

10% - Communication Functions

Serve as an ambassador for the mission and vision of the Center and the brand.

Monitor and report on effectiveness of marketing communications.

Maintain effective communication to ensure that Center staff, Departments of Theatre/Dance and Music, touring companies, guest artists and other user groups of the facility are kept informed of marketing objectives and policies.

10% - ARTS at GONZAGA Brand Management

Co-lead the ongoing development of the ARTS at GONZAGA brand and oversee the implementation of the brand into all marketing and communication operations.

Develop and maintain the ARTS at GONZAGA brand style guide and steward the brands use.

Work collaboratively with all brand partners and University (MarCom) and College (CAS) communicators to ensure proper use and realize successful outcomes.

Educational Requirement
Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience

Years of Related Experience Requirement
4 years

In lieu of the educational qualifications, candidates may qualify with equivalent professional experience at a ratio of one year of experience for each year of required education.

Skills & Abilities

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, and Word

Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, and In-Design)

Experience with email platforms

Experience with social media dashboards and managing social accounts

Experience with survey construction

Proficient in English written and verbal communication skills

Excellent organizational skills

Demonstrated time management, punctuality, and priority setting skills

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to maintain confidentiality

Strong customer service skills

Strong analytical capability, with ability to analyze and compare data and make data driven decisions

Preferred Qualifications

Work experience in higher education is preferred.

Work in experiential marketing.

Working knowledge of computerized ticketing systems.

Demonstrated experience with content management systems.

Pay Range
The budgeted salary range that the University reasonably expects to offer for this position:

$27.54 - $35.55 per hour

Minimum Salary (Non-Exempt): 27.54

Midpoint Salary (Non-Exempt): 34.42

Maximum Salary (Non-Exempt): 41.30
