Broadcast Systems Technician
Oneida Professional Services is seeking a Broadcast Systems Technician to support the Defense Information School (DINFOS) Technology & Logistics Support Services contract at Fort Meade, Maryland. This position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and sustainment of broadcast, audiovisual, RF transmission, and studio production systems supporting DINFOS training and operational missions.
The successful candidate will provide technical support for radio and television studios, control rooms, video teleconferencing systems, broadcast networking infrastructure, and associated production technologies. This role requires extensive hands-on experience with professional broadcast systems and equipment as well as a strong understanding of industry standards and best practices.

Key Responsibilities
Install, configure, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and support professional broadcast and audiovisual systems.
Provide technical support for radio studios, television studios, control rooms, production facilities, and related broadcast environments.
Maintain and troubleshoot RF transmission systems, broadcast networking infrastructure, and visual information systems.
Support Video Teleconferencing (VTC) systems, conference room technologies, control automation systems, and integrated audiovisual environments.
Perform preventive maintenance inspections and corrective maintenance activities on broadcast and production equipment.
Diagnose hardware, software, signal path, and network-related issues affecting broadcast operations.
Utilize Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) to identify and resolve technical issues.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, maintenance records, diagrams, and system configurations.
Create and update equipment layouts, schematics, and technical drawings using AutoCAD.
Coordinate with vendors, manufacturers, and technical support organizations to resolve equipment and system issues.
Support equipment upgrades, technology refresh efforts, and infrastructure modernization projects.
Ensure compliance with applicable technical standards, safety procedures, and operational requirements.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of five (5) years of experience supporting broadcast electronics maintenance, broadcast engineering, or professional audiovisual systems.
Experience supporting radio and television studios, control rooms, production facilities, and broadcast operations.
Knowledge of analog and digital audio/video technologies, signal flows, and broadcast infrastructure.
Knowledge of industry standards including SMPTE, FCC, IEEE, and ATSC requirements.
Hands-on experience troubleshooting and maintaining professional broadcast equipment and systems.
Experience utilizing Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE).
Working knowledge of AutoCAD, including 2D drawings and technical schematics.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds and safely work from ladders up to 12 feet in height.
Preferred Qualifications
FCC License, Society of Broadcast Engineers (SBE) certification, Certified Technology Specialist (CTS), CompTIA certification, or equivalent industry credential.
Experience supporting Department of Defense, military, educational, or government broadcast environments.
Experience supporting equipment such as Broadcast Electronics AudioVault, Wheatstone consoles, Crestron systems, Biamp systems, Ross video switchers, Harris Netwave, Chyron graphics systems, Evertz master clocks, Pro-Bel routers, and similar broadcast technologies.
Experience with IP-based broadcast infrastructure and broadcast networking technologies.
Familiarity with studio construction, system integration, and broadcast facility modernization projects.
Experience supporting live production, streaming, and digital media distribution systems.
