Organist

Qualifications

Proficient organist familiar with organ repertoire and sacred music

Flexibility and willingness to match the style of the congregation

Ability to follow traditional Lutheran liturgy

Ability and desire to work with music staff and volunteers

A committed Christian growing in faith

Responsibilities

Provide organ music for the glory of God for scheduled worship services including regular Sunday services, Advent, Christmas, Lent, Holy Week, Easter, Thanksgiving and some Funerals.

Accompany the choir (piano) and work with the Choir Director on average bi-weekly Sunday services.

Accompany soloists and instrumentalists for special music that may be used in worship.

Provide regular organ works such as preludes, postludes, as well as any special music for worship.

Provide organ music for weddings and funerals as requested. (Fees are in addition to salary and are not paid directly by the church)

Work cooperatively with the Pastor, Choir Director and Board of Elders
