Job Title

Food/Prop Stylist
Overview

The Food/Prop Stylist brings versatile skills in food and prop styling to produce premium photography and video content for People Inc. brands. The role collaborates with internal brand partners to plan and execute photo shoots, sourcing food and prop items, preparing recipes, and styling within the parameters set by art and editorial teams. The stylist works closely with photography teams, directs assistants, and ensures high‑quality content production on schedule. The position also manages pantry, kitchen equipment, and prop inventory, builds the prop collection, and works with the Director of Production on monthly budget spending. This is a full in‑office role.
Essential Job Functions

70% Produce and style primarily food content for People Inc. brands shooting photo and/or video in the Content Studios. Non‑food shoots require prop styling.
10% Maintain accurate financial records and share purchasing information with the Director of Production; submit expense reports as required.
10% Manage pantry, kitchen equipment, and prop inventory, adding items, deciding on removals, and collaborating on best practices and storage solutions.
10% Prepare market orders and provide all food items needed for shoots from content provided by clients.
Travel Requirements

10% local travel weekly to stores to buy groceries and supplies for photo shoots. Overnight travel rarely.
Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements

Education:

Associates, BS, or BA culinary degree or significant experience operating a professional kitchen; waiver possible based on experience.
Experience:

2‑3 years as a food and prop stylist or assistant food and prop stylist preferred. Significant food experience in a professional capacity considered in lieu of styling experience; experience in food styling is the primary requirement.

Financial – maintain accurate financial records and file expense reports.
Travel:

Approximately 10% local travel weekly; overnight travel rarely.
