Basic working knowledge of entertainment technical equipment. Supports live shows, events and entertainment venues, able to operate shows in accordance to the standards set by Entertainment Management. Supports and assists the Entertainment Management team at all times in the day to day operation of the Department.
Main Responsibilities
Operate audio, lighting, special effects, and video equipment for live shows. Ensure all show cues are taken as required by Entertainment Management. Responsible for technical elements of shows and show venues.
Apply working knowledge of entertainment technology in disciplines such as audio, lighting, video, and special effects.
Learn proficiency in multiple technical disciplines as required.
Understand entertainment terminology related to equipment, staging, show cues, and scripts.
Perform pre and post show checks of equipment and props to ensure safety and good working order.
Conduct regular maintenance checks on all equipment and report incidents and defects to an Entertainment Supervisor.
Troubleshoot signal flow and basic electrics.
Obtain certification to operate a forklift, genie lift, and scissor lift.
Assist in load in/out of special events equipment and decorations.
Perform basic carpentry, operate power tools, assemble scenery and staging.
Operate spotlights, maintain equipment and tools, assist other departments as needed.
Collect facility keys, secure facility at end of day.
Attend all show rehearsals for training and maintenance of show program.
Monitor sound levels, maintain a clean and safe environment in control, stage, and backstage areas.
Comply with safety regulations and operate equipment per guidelines.
Complete daily Show Report with pertinent information.
Assist in emergency procedures as outlined.
Report venue status to Entertainment Duty and inform of issues immediately.
Reflect personal conduct aligned with Merlin Values.
Lift at least 25 lbs.
This role is seasonal and will sunset on Friday, October 2nd 2026.
Qualifications & Experience
At least two years of experience in theme park technical services or equivalent experience.
Self-motivated with initiative and teamwork, strong problem‑solving skills, and outstanding guest service.
Ability to remain calm under pressure.
High school diploma or equivalent education and experience, preferably.
Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends to support park operations.
Pre‑employment placement physical assessment required.
Must be able to lift at least 25 lbs, perform light to moderate manual tasks, and meet basic dexterity and strength requirements.
Ability to operate forklift, genie lift, scissor lift, basic carpentry tools, and power tools.

Pay Range
