Job Description
A substitute teacher is responsible for providing instruction, managing the classroom environment, and promoting student learning in the absence of the regular classroom teacher.

Requirements and Procedure
Substitutes in Midway ISD are required to complete:

Substitute application. Be ready to provide:

A transcript showing some college hours OR a copy of a current teaching certificate

At least 2 non-family references

Substitute checklists. Each checklist will be assigned once the previous one has been submitted by the applicant and approved by an HR staff member:

On-boarding paperwork (assigned once the application has been approved)

Pass a Criminal history/background check and be fingerprinted through TEA’s database (a fingerprint authorization will be requested once the on-boarding paperwork has been approved)

Substitute Handbook Checklist (assigned in conjunction with the fingerprinting process)

Daily Rate of pay:

$100 per day - All Levels

Long Term Substitute assignments will see a different pay rate.
