Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in any discipline AND two years of professional experience.

Associate degree in any discipline AND six years of professional experience.

Valid California teaching credential authorizing service in a community college in the appropriate subject matter area, or equivalent qualifications determined by the District Equivalency Committee.

Desirable Qualifications

Ability to collaborate with and teach students from diverse backgrounds, fostering an inclusive learning environment.

Expertise in scenic design for theatrical productions across multiple venue types.

Proficiency in producing professional‑grade communication tools: CAD drafting packets, scaled production models, white models, painter’s elevations, 3D renderings, detailed scene sheets.

Ability to paint scenery utilizing industry‑standard techniques, textures, and finishes.

Comprehensive knowledge of scenic construction materials and methods; certified in safe operation of Ariel Work Platforms and Mobile Elevating Work Platforms.

Understanding of Career and Technical Education program objectives.

Ability to prepare students for real‑world careers in the performing arts and entertainment industries.
