Job Description
Classroom Teacher – Music at Rochelle Middle School, Lenoir County Public Schools, Kinston, North Carolina.

Licensure
The incumbent must hold a current North Carolina Professional Educators license in Music Education (K-12) with a concentration in Band/Choral Music, or be eligible to obtain it.

Performance Responsibilities

Plan, organize, and deliver instruction that promotes students’ cognitive, physical, and social/emotional development.

Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of all learners.

Use a variety of technology and classroom tools to enhance learning.

Manage instructional time and student behavior effectively.

Motivate students and maintain a positive learning environment.

Consult with parents, teachers, administrators, and community members to support students’ learning.

Monitor student performance and use data to inform instruction.

Collaborate with school personnel to create a professional learning community.

Additional Job Functions

Coordinate and direct the activities of the Teacher Assistant, if applicable.

Perform related work as required by the school or district.

Qualifications

Minimum bachelor's degree from an approved education program in a relevant subject area.

Valid North Carolina Teaching License, or qualification to obtain one.

Strong background in the North Carolina Standard Course of Study, Common Core, and Essential Standards.

Knowledge and Skills

Demonstrates leadership within the classroom and school.

Establishes a respectful and inclusive environment for a diverse student population.

Possesses deep content knowledge and aligns instruction with state standards.

Implements effective instructional strategies and integrates technology.

Term of Employment
10 months, unless otherwise specified.

Salary
North Carolina Teacher Salary Scale + $2,000 Supplement.

Evaluation
Performance is evaluated through the NC Educator Effectiveness System, in accordance with state policy.
