HPC Industrial , powered by Clean Harbors, is looking for a Hydro blaster/Field Technician to join their safety conscious team. This Technician will be responsible for the safe & proper execution of HPC-Industrial jobs across all service lines.
This role is especially suited for individuals transitioning from military service.
Key Responsibilities
Act as safety representative responsible for safety policies & procedures of both the company & the customer, including hands‑on information regarding operations, safety, equipment, emergency response & administrative functions.
Hands‑on operation of manual and automated hydro‑blasting equipment when required.
Operate special equipment, such as ultra‑high‑pressure pumps, vacuum trucks, and cutting equipment used on the job.
Ensure equipment is energized correctly for hydro‑blasting or chemical cleaning operations.
Inspect surfaces cleaned to ensure conformance to company & customer specifications.
Perform routine maintenance on company equipment.
For supervisory personnel: interface with customer representatives regarding job setup and scope, ensure performance & customer requirements are met or exceeded, and report to the branch manager or designee.
Physical Demands
Read and understand signs in the work area.
Hear and distinguish emergency signals while on duty.
Perform a 180° rotary motion of the cervical spine to allow complete movement of the head & neck.
Extend arms above head.
Bend at waist, stoop, squat, kneel, reach & crawl frequently.
Be wet from head to toe for extended periods.
Climb ladders and work from scaffolding or stationary platforms up to heights of 200 ft.
Function in confined spaces of a minimum of 5 ft inside diameter.
Hold a 50‑lb thrust on a straight 66” pipe for a minimum of 1 hour.
Work up to 16 hours per shift.
Use negative‑pressure and air‑supplied respirators.
Wear protective clothing, e.g., Nomex coveralls, back belt, slickers, rubber boots, breathing mask, escape pack, and hard hat.
Operate in extreme climate conditions (high heat index or sub‑zero weather).
Exposure to dust, fumes, exhaust, and highly pressurized fluids (respirator provided when required).
Noise levels exceed 85 dBA (hearing protection required).
Lift & maintain a minimum of 40 lbs.
Qualifications & Requirements
Specific vocational preparation including classroom safety training and on‑the‑job training with essential experience gained in other roles.
English language proficiency sufficient to comprehend safety training and respond to instructions in emergency situations.
Valid driver’s license and compliance with company driving policy when operating company or personal vehicles on company business.
Knowledgeable in the operation of emergency equipment, such as fire extinguishers.
Provide Federal Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC).
