Schedule
Varies; must be able to work nights and weekends. Primarily responsible for covering the 2nd shift at the Ice Rink from 4:00 pm to 12:30 am, September to April.

Salary
$26.20 – $27.26 per hour.

Responsibilities

Prepare, maintain, monitor, and repair indoor and outdoor athletic facilities, fields, and equipment, including setup for athletic events.

Perform minor non-structural carpentry, electrical, touch‑up paint, and mechanical repairs on equipment, program areas, and supplies.

Ensure all fields and programs are set up in accordance with sport rules, regulations, and NCAA requirements.

Operate the Zamboni and perform ice maintenance tasks, including painting lines and logos, and maintaining protective glass and seating.

Install and maintain track, field, and court facilities, including specific maintenance for baseball, football, softball, track, indoor courts, outdoor tennis courts, and special event setups.

Assist Athletic Crew II duties under direction of Assistant Athletics Director for Athletics Grounds and Events.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent.

Three to five years of relevant experience.

Ability to use a variety of hand tools, equipment, power tools, and shift-type vehicles.

Valid driver’s license.

Basic mathematical skills and ability to follow oral and written instructions.

Ability to perform strenuous physical activity in all kinds of weather.

Willingness to work overtime, nights, and weekends.

Strong public relations skills with a diverse community.

Working Conditions

Requires bending, kneeling, climbing, cramped or awkward positions.

Regular lifting, carrying, and holding of objects weighing 25–150 lbs.

Work performed indoors and outdoors, in bad weather, and noisy, dirty, or dusty areas.

Exposure to hazards such as electrical shock, burns, cuts, and exhaust fumes.

Use of protective clothing (gloves, goggles, masks, ear plugs) as required.

Training Requirements

Safety (EHS) training.

Laboratory safety / hazardous waste management training.

Asbestos awareness training.

Fall protection training.

Bloodborne pathogen training for non‑research employees.

Lock out / tag out training.
