Your Role: Gensler’s Silicon Valley office is seeking an Experiential Graphic Designer with a passion for helping clients communicate their stories through immersive, multi-channel experiences across today’s diverse media landscape. This role centers on the ability to deeply understand a client’s brand and translate it into compelling expressions through graphic design, spatial environments, and technology. You will join a collaborative studio of designers, architects, strategists, digital experience experts, and storytellers who partner with clients across a broad spectrum of industries.
Location: San Jose, CA. This is not a remote role.
What You Will Do
Design a wide variety of graphics, branded environments, and wayfinding projects.
Act as a key partner on fast‑paced interdisciplinary teams—architects, interior designers, graphic designers, illustrators, motion graphic/animators, and more—to deliver projects ranging from strategic planning to corporate and retail interiors, sports arenas, and mixed‑use developments.
Deliver creative solutions in diverse markets including workplace, hospitality, retail, sports, aviation, and digital channels.
Leverage AI design tools (FLUX-based and diffusion model workflows via the firm’s RunDiffusion platform) to accelerate iteration cycles, expand creative output per engagement, and demonstrate AI‑assisted production processes to interdisciplinary project teams.
Contribute to team fluency development by documenting AI workflow approaches, sharing prompt strategies, and participating in studio-wide AI practice initiatives.
Design web and digital interfaces for client‑facing applications, campaign microsites, and digital experience platforms: translate brand systems into responsive, screen‑based environments that extend the physical design narrative into digital channels.
Produce video content to elevate client presentations—edit and assemble compelling visual narratives that communicate design intent, sequence spatial experiences, and bring projects to life for client audiences.
Collaborate on experiential installations where video skills are required for the project scope.
Your Qualifications
1‑4 years of experience in Graphic Design, Experiential Design, or Environmental Graphic Design with a professional degree in Industrial Design, Graphic Design, or a related field.
Exceptional design sense with the ability to integrate messaging, color, imagery, and typography into print, digital, and three‑dimensional built environments.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce production‑ready artwork, including file handoff for large‑format output: substrate specs, bleed, color profiles, and fabricator‑ready formats.
Proficiency drawing in scale and familiarity with architectural construction documents, elevations, plans, and shop drawings.
Excellent communication skills when working with clients, vendors, consultants, and project teams.
Ability to manage multiple projects at once while remaining efficient, poised, communicative, and organized.
Flexibility to work both collaboratively and independently on projects of all sizes.
Proficiency in the latest design software including Adobe Creative Suite, CAD tools, and AI visualization platforms such as FLUX-based and diffusion model pipelines via enterprise platforms including RunDiffusion (Adobe Firefly experience valued).
Demonstrated use of AI in an active workflow; portfolio must include AI‑assisted projects with explanations of workflow, prompts, and hand refinements.
Ability to articulate design decisions made with and without AI assistance, including risk assessment and judgment application.
Portfolio must demonstrate at least one design system authored: brand standards, wayfinding logic, or component architecture—not just assets within an existing system.
Proficiency in After Effects or equivalent motion tools for digital signage and animated environmental elements; Rive or Lottie familiarity a plus for interactive wayfinding applications.
Video editing proficiency (Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve) required; primary application is client presentation production.
Figma proficiency required: component architecture, auto‑layout, and prototyping for web and digital interface work.
SketchUp, Rhino, and/or Revit are a plus.
The base salary will be estimated between $75,000 and $82,000 annually, plus bonuses and benefits, and is contingent on relevant experience.
Benefits include medical, dental, vision, disability, wellness programs, flex spending, paid holidays, paid time off, 401(k), profit sharing, employee stock ownership, and twice‑annual bonus opportunities. We also reimburse tuition and professional license renewal fees for eligible programs.
