Part-Time Associate Digital Editor

Position: Associate Digital Production Editor Approximately 24 hours per week, part of the Digital Production team supporting article creation across news, sports, and features. Collaborate with reporters and editors to turn stories into engaging content with headlines, visuals, video, and layout.
Responsibilities Produce and package stories for online, mobile, and tablet.
Enhance the presentation of stories through photos, video, and other multimedia content.
Write smart, pithy headlines that capture readers’ attention.
Use social media and digital tools for news gathering and discovery.
Monitor traffic and overall site metrics.
Work cooperatively as a team member under tight deadlines.
Requirements 1+ years’ experience in an online news environment.
Ability to leverage multimedia content to enhance stories and user experience.
Journalism chops; understanding what to promote and what is breaking news.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
Familiarity with content management systems, photo editing software, SEO and web analytics tools is a plus.
Work Schedule This role will be expected to work weekends. Shift schedule is 7 a.m. – 3 p.m. or 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. EST.
Engagement and Compensation This engagement is facilitated through a third‑party vendor; employment and payroll will be managed by the vendor. Base Pay Range: $25.00 – $32.00 hourly.
