The Pekoe Group is an award-winning, fast-paced, full service advertising agency in NYC, working with the city's top Broadway shows, Off-Broadway shows, and restaurants.

We are seeking a full-time Social Media Coordinator to join our team.

This role will support the execution of social media campaigns across a roster of clients, ensuring content is planned, captured, posted, and reported on with precision. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and tuned in to social trends, with a strong interest in theatre and storytelling.

This role is focused on coordination, execution, and performance tracking - while a foundational understanding of content creation is important, this is not a content creation role.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Managing day-to-day social media activity across assigned client accounts

Building and maintaining content calendars and copy documents based on approved strategy, campaign priorities, and timelines

Drafting, organizing, and distributing posting memos

Creating and distributing Cast Social Media How-To Guides

Coordinating and overseeing in-theatre and on-site content captures, working cross-functionally with Creative and Account teams

Coordinating and facilitating cast social media trainings

Serving as the primary point of contact for the Community Engagement team, providing daily guidance and oversight

Monitoring user-generated content and identifying opportunities for amplification

Conducting social listening across platforms to track keywords, trends, and audience sentiment

Tracking and analyzing content performance, surfacing insights and recommendations to the internal team

Compiling and inputting social performance data into weekly and bi-weekly client reporting decks

Building and maintaining influencer lists and coordinating influencer invites

Facilitating influencer contracts and negotiations

Assisting with on-site content captures as needed

Communicating daily with Director of Integrated Marketing on status updates, priorities, and key learnings

Flagging timely opportunities, cultural moments, and/or emerging conversations to Account Manager and Director of Integrated Marketing

Staying current on platform updates, trends, and best practices, particularly within theatre, live entertainment, and arts marketing

QUALIFICATIONS

Strong interest in theatre, live entertainment, or arts and culture marketing

1 – 3 years of experience in social media, digital marketing, or a related field (agency experience a plus)

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Deep familiarity with major social platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, X, Reddit) and their evolving best practices

Experience with social media management and scheduling tools (e.g., Sprout, Hootsuite, Rival IQ, Meta Business Suite)

Strong organizational and project management skills; ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines simultaneously

Detail-oriented with a high standard for accuracy

Proactive and solutions-oriented, with the ability to anticipate needs and flag issues early

Working knowledge of content performance metrics and analytics (engagement, reach, impressions), and identifying changing KPIs in the growing social world

Ability to translate performance data into clear, actionable insights

Basic design and video editing skills (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut) with an understanding of what performs well on social

Comfort working in live environments (theatres, events, rehearsals) and coordinating with talent and production teams

Professional presence when interacting with clients, talent, and partners

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a deadline-driven environment
