Job Description
As a Rhapsody Developer, you will design, implement, and maintain integration solutions within an enterprise service bus environment, enabling seamless message transmission and interoperability across healthcare systems. You will play a critical role in enhancing automated workflows, ensuring data integrity, and supporting compliance with industry standards. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable integration solutions, support ongoing system enhancements, and provide technical expertise for complex healthcare data exchange requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop integration solutions within the enterprise service bus environment
Build interfaces based on business and technical requirements
Translate business needs into technical specifications and system designs
Develop custom filters, mappers, and components using the Rhapsody Developer Kit
Implement and maintain integrations using SOAP, REST, and other web services
Perform data transformations across formats such as HL7 v2, HL7 v3, FHIR, XML, JSON, and flat files
Develop and maintain JavaScript-based filters and automation scripts within Rhapsody
Configure database connections with MSSQL and Oracle systems
Implement secure communication protocols including TCP, HTTP, LLP, and OAuth
Contribute to system design and optimization of integration workflows
Maintain code quality, configuration management, and solution integrity
Prepare documentation and support code reviews in alignment with SDLC processes
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support integration and system enhancements
Required Skills, Experiences, Education, and Competencies
9+ years of overall development experience
7+ years of hands‑on experience with Rhapsody Integration Engine
Rhapsody certification
Strong experience with HL7 v2.x messaging standards
Experience with HL7 FHIR and healthcare interoperability standards
Proficiency in developing APIs using SOAP and REST services
Experience with JavaScript development within Rhapsody environments
Strong understanding of data transformation across multiple formats (HL7, XML, JSON, etc.)
Experience working with relational databases such as MSSQL and Oracle
Knowledge of integration protocols including TCP, HTTP, LLP, and OAuth
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Familiarity with CDA standards and clinical document formats (preferred)
Knowledge of healthcare vocabularies such as LOINC, SNOMED, and RxNorm (preferred)
Experience with Health Information Exchange (HIE) systems and IHE profiles (preferred)
Experience with latest versions of Rhapsody Integration Engine (preferred)
Experience implementing transport‑level security such as TLS and certificate‑based authentication (preferred)
The hourly range for roles of this nature are $50.00 to $80.00/hr. Rates are heavily dependent on skills, experience, location, and industry.
