Responsibilities

Schedule: Weekend doubles (Saturday and Sunday) 6:30 AM – 10:30 PM; shift supervisor of Mental Health Techs and LVN staff; provide physical assessments, implement treatment plans, evaluate response to treatment, administer medications, document care, educate patients and families, and manage safety and crisis situations for adolescent and young adult patients.

Qualifications

Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
One year psychiatric
europsychiatric experience with adolescents and/or young adults in a long‑term hospital or residential setting preferred.
Knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques and understanding of mental illness preferred.
Current Texas professional Nurse License.
Current driver license.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Maintain confidentiality of patient and employee information.
Demonstrate effective organization.
Develop and implement patient care services within discipline.
Consistently exhibit mental ability to understand and perform the essential functions of the job.
Ability to initiate and implement all phases of the nursing process.
Provide safe nursing care.
Understand patient rights.
Basic supervisory skills.
