The News Anchor/Producer/MMJ The News Anchor/Producer/MMJ serves as the primary presenter of news stories and other content for all platforms in a manner that is clear, engaging and meaningful to news consumers.
Responsibilities Anchor and produce weekend morning newscasts.
Produce content for multiple platforms, including TV, internet, mobile, and other digital outlets.
Work with management to enterprise and develop stories daily.
Demonstrate compelling storytelling using dynamic live shots, stand‑ups, creative graphics, and digital/social media platforms.
Organize material, determine angle or emphasis, and write stories according to prescribed editorial style and format standards.
Gather and verify information through interview, observation, and research.
Build a network of sources that provide information enabling the Company to stay ahead of competitors.
Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
Actively participate in social media in accordance with company and station guidance.
Participate in station‑sponsored community events in accordance with station guidance.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in communication, journalism or related field required (equivalent years of experience may substitute).
Minimum two years of television anchoring or reporting experience.
Solid vocal delivery, camera presence and clear enunciation.
Ability to develop sources in assigned beats and regularly enterprise stories with strong investigative elements.
Ability to command live breaking news and weather events.
Clear communication with staff, team on air, and viewers to ensure the most accurate information is presented in real time.
Understanding of the importance of social media.
Excellent reading, writing, spelling, grammar and organizational skills.
Promotes teamwork and maintains a cooperative attitude with all station personnel.
Ability to operate newsroom computer systems.
