KING 5 News in Seattle is looking for a Morning Show Producer who will hit the ground running to elevate our #1 ranked morning newscasts. We’re looking for a producer who embraces bold decisions and a strong commitment to breaking news. We’re also seeking a journalist specializing in urgent, engaging, and energetic newscasts. The successful candidate will be a driven, tenacious, and creative producer with excellent writing skills. We are looking for a leader who isn’t afraid of taking risks and prioritizes breaking news.
Craft compelling newscasts that embrace breaking news, enterprise content, emotion, and showcasing
Work directly with the Executive Producer, anchors, & news leaders to consistently build a high-quality news show
Demonstrate strong news judgement and understand the tenants of ethical journalism
Be aggressive covering breaking news and manage the newscast’s timing
Produce unique content for multi-platforms, including broadcast and digital
Write accurate, urgent and engaging copy
Use creative production techniques like graphics, pre-production and unique camera shots
Calmly handle live and breaking news in the control room
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of experience
Strong news judgement and use of analytics to make bold editorial decisions.
Shifts could include overnight hours, holidays and weekends
Knowledge of ENPS, Edius, editing and content management systems are a plus
