Graphic Designer Volunteer Job at NYC Service in New York

WITNESS is looking for a graphic design volunteer to create digital content for social media, marketing, and communications. Ideally, the candidate has graphic design experience, is proficient in using Canva, and has a strong eye for visual details and branding.

Online portfolio of work is REQUIRED.

Responsibilities and Expected Outcomes

Designing strongly branded promotional graphics that align with WITNESS's image and guidelines

Creating appealing and eye-catching designs for social media posts, newsletters, and flyers

Fulfilling multiple project requests while simultaneously meeting tight deadlines

Brainstorm and draft ideas for marketing materials

Work with Social Media, Marketing, and Communications Team to create visually appealing graphics and videos

Qualifications, Credentials, and Technical Skills Required

1-2+ years of graphic design experience, or related work

Required experience with Canva (portfolio/link with example works will be requested)

Proficiency in other software (Figma, Adobe) not required, but is a plus

Strong attention to detail and visuals according to expected standards

Volunteer opportunities are available in the fall, winter, spring, and summer semesters.

Because this is an unpaid volunteer opportunity, WITNESS is happy to provide recommendations or references for all volunteers. The internship is offered in either remote or hybrid format.

Requirements: Age ≥18, English language competency.
