JOB OBJECTIVE
Associations and Event organizers hire MCI’s sales team to serve as their sales partner. We generate revenue through exhibit, sponsorship, and advertising sales for a variety of clients. We are seeking a Sales Director to lead a multi‑million dollar sales effort in the aviation space.

The Sales Director will be responsible for leading and managing the sales team and partnering with our client to deliver the day‑to‑day operations and strategy of our sales work for a portfolio of events, including a Gold 100 event, multiple smaller event experiences, and advertising products. #LI‑Remote

COMPENSATION:

$115,000-130,000 annually, based on relevant experience and skills.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Own and deliver on revenue targets across a portfolio of events and products (exhibit, sponsorship, and advertising)

Develop and execute comprehensive sales and growth strategies to drive revenue performance

Identify new revenue opportunities and optimize existing offerings to maximize client value

Serve as the strategic sales lead and primary partner for association clients

Align sales strategy with client objectives and long‑term growth plans

Build and maintain strong executive‑level client relationships

Sponsorship & Product Development

Lead the development of innovative sponsorship and advertising solutions tailored to client and market needs

Drive value proposition development and ensure clear positioning across all sales channels

Partner with internal teams to bring new revenue concepts to market

Oversee pipeline management, forecasting, and performance tracking to ensure achievement of sales goals

Leverage data and insights to inform strategy, improve conversion, and optimise sales outcomes

Ensure consistent sales processes, tools, and reporting across the team

Lead, coach, and develop a team of sales professionals to achieve individual and team performance goals

Set clear expectations, monitor performance, and provide ongoing feedback and support

Foster a collaborative, high‑performance team culture aligned with MCI values

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

Partner with marketing, operations, and client services teams to ensure alignment and successful delivery of sales initiatives

Support integrated go‑to‑market strategies across multiple stakeholders

All other duties as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS

7+ years of applicable sales experience

Exhibit and sponsorship sales experience supporting large‑scale association events or portfolios with measurable revenue and exhibitor/sponsor scope

Ability to travel to client events and meetings; estimated 20%.

Demonstrated experience managing and delivering on significant revenue targets (e.g., multi‑million‑dollar portfolios)

Experience leading sales teams and developing high‑performing talent

Experience working with associations, events, or similar client environments preferred

Experience managing complex sales cycles across multiple products or offerings

Solution‑based sales experience and the ability to deliver and coach to a consultative sales approach;

Good decision‑making skills, tactful, good listener, willingness to search out answers, ability to recognise when others need to be involved in activities or decisions;

Creative, curious, positive, high‑energy level, and an enthusiasm for meeting and working with a wide range of individuals;

Ability to work in a fast‑paced sales environment and adapt quickly to new projects.

SPECIFIC TECHNICAL SKILLS

Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word)

Salesforce experience preferred

Experience preferred with MapYourShow or other event management tools

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to travel 4-6x per year for in‑person client meetings or events
