Job Summary
Lead the actuarial department in developing and implementing pricing strategies, loss reserving methodologies, and risk management frameworks.
Work Location
This position offers both remote and hybrid work locations. Candidates who reside within 50 miles of an office location (West Bend, Madison, Appleton) will be offered a hybrid work schedule. Candidates who are fully remote (beyond 50 miles) may occasionally be asked to travel to an office location for in-person engagement activities such as team meetings, training and corporate events.

senior actuarial leader
to head our Commercial Pricing function - someone who can connect data, strategy, and talent to drive profitable growth. This role goes beyond technical excellence. You'll serve as a
trusted partner to the business , delivering forward-looking insights that influence decisions at the highest levels.

What You'll Do
Lead the
Commercial Pricing Team , setting strategy and priorities aligned to business goals
Act as a
key advisor to senior leadership , delivering insights that shape growth, profitability, and risk management
Own and evolve the
technical pricing framework , leveraging data and models to drive risk-based decisions
Oversee pricing for new and existing products - balancing competitiveness with strong financial performance
Guide reserving methodologies and ensure accurate, compliant
loss reserve practices
Partner closely with
Underwriting, Product, Claims, and Finance
to optimize portfolio performance
Drive innovation by integrating
advanced analytics, predictive modeling, and decision frameworks
into business processes
Lead financial forecasting, including
premium, loss, and reserve projections
Support regulatory and financial reporting, including
statutory filings and reserve opinions
Build a high-performing team -
mentoring, coaching, and developing actuarial talent
while fostering a culture of continuous learning
What You Bring
10+ years of actuarial experience , with
3-5+ years in a leadership role
Proven success leading actuarial teams and influencing cross-functional stakeholders
Deep expertise in
pricing, reserving, and risk management
within P&C insurance
Experience with
predictive modeling, data analytics, and modern actuarial tools
(SAS, Python, Databricks, SQL, Excel)
Strong business acumen with the ability to translate complex analysis into
clear, actionable insights
A forward-thinking mindset - able to deliver insights that not only explain results, but
shape strategy
Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with a collaborative, "enterprise-first" approach
Education & Credentials
Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field (Master's preferred)
Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS)
or equivalent

Salary Statement
The salary range for this position is $200,000-$250,000.
The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity. Compensation decisions are made by West Bend and are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
