Audiovisual Product Specialist

The duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Video/Audio Documentation, Editing and Production - Performs work in the production of videotaped and live television programs; live and prerecorded radio broadcasts; motion picture films; broadcast type closed circuit teleconferences; and other similar productions, such as slide shows with sound accompaniments.
Plans, organizes, and directs the work of writers, editors, actors, narrators, musicians, set designers, audio and lightning technicians, camera operators, and other associated technical personnel to produce, select, and arrange the actions, sounds, and visual effects required for the finished production.
Recommends changes in type of equipment used, and the location of the communication interface to improve the environment for the video communication transmission. Based on the type of production assignment, determines which cameras are to record the action, directing the switching from one camera to another, cue in of music and sound effects, and assuming direct responsibility for all aspects of the video/television production as it is being transmitted or recorded for future transmission.
Responsible for filming people, in their normal work area and occupation, to produce local training videos, Video News Releases, Executive Leadership videos (South Texas News), features stories, public service announcements, and interactive Web content for videostreaming purposes.
Produces live, in-house transmissions, or pre-recorded videos where the Executive Leadership Team (Medical Center Director/CEO, Deputy Medical Center Director, Associate Director/COO, Associate Director for Patient Care Services (Nurse Executive), Assistant Director for Facilities, Chief of Staff and Chief Quality Officer), Service Chiefs, Supervisors, Managers, or an invited expert may exhibit or explain examples of the work or accomplishments of a specific program or activity.
This position is responsible for supervising Audiovisual (AV) intern(s), Work Study students, and volunteers within Videography.
Incumbent responsible for Pre-Production, Production and Post-Prodoction aspects of Audiovisual support.
Audiovisual Equipment Support - Must have knowledge of a complex audiovisual control system and assistance in setting up and operating audiovisual equipment in support of STVHCS hosted meetings, conferences, presentations, and video/computer teleconferences. Knowledge to research for contracted equipment when needed.
Photography Support - Provides photographic support to the STVHCS Public Affairs Programs by documenting award presentations, special ceremonies, dignitary visits, outreach events, Executive Leadership community events and programs as needed.
Conducts head shots for STVHCS Executive Leadership, Service Chiefs and manages the Executive Leadership Board, Service Chief Board and Employee Recognition Award Board.
Photographs employees, Veterans, community partners and other activities as needed in support of STVHCS communication activities and objectives.
General knowledge of operation of still and action digital cameras and other photographic equipment, to include lighting, metering, proper lens selection and general photography/documentation/editing techniques.
Administrative - Responsible for maintaining operating material inventories, and requesting departmental supplies, while keeping within the fiscal year budget allocations.
Ensures consent forms for internal and external use of pictures, video and voice are properly completed and filed. Maintains adherence to the provisions of HIPAA, The Privacy Act and Freedom of Information Act to maintain patient privacy and safeguard of sensitive information. Safeguard's passwords, CAC card, keys, and other means to ensure both physical and computer security.
