ADP is hiring: Lead User Experience Researcher in Roseland

ADP · Roseland, FL, USA ·

Pay:
$93,400-$230,000/yr
Job type:
Full Time

ADP is hiring a Lead User Experience Researcher to join the team working on ADP’s next‑generation SMB HCM/Payroll platform. You will extract market and behavioral truth via a robust research roadmap, translate evidence into product, business, and strategic impact, and ensure a high‑capacity, high‑value research agenda that reveals critical insights through testing and learning. User and market truth is the essential ingredient that will enable the product to move with growing confidence toward commercial scale.

What You’ll Do

  • Define, prioritize, and drive the research agenda to expose user needs, segment risks, and critical workflow gaps, adapting scope and methodologies as the context shifts with various phases of the SDLC, from concept explorations to scaled pilots and post‑launch feedback initiatives.

  • Run ambiguous and experimental research, with emphasis on machine learning and generative‑AI powered features, where novel methodologies and logistics may be required to achieve the learning goals.

  • Plan and execute end‑to‑end studies: design the learning agenda, screeners and guides, recruit, and conduct qualitative, quantitative, generative, and evaluative studies.

  • Build clear, defensible, evidence‑driven analysis and findings narratives that can withstand pressure‑testing and critique from various audiences, from engineering ICs to senior business and technology executives.

  • Identify misaligned research arcs relative to business or roadmap constraints, spot strategic gaps, propose mitigation strategies, and recommend actions.

  • Co‑own and operationalize the team’s generative UX workstream: scope, plan, and run immersive client/user visits that include SBS and Innovation Lab team members.

  • Connect user data to business, product roadmap, and engineering choices, making findings actionable.

  • Exemplify best practices, open‑mindedness, a love of collaboration, grace under pressure, and an action orientation with peers and cross‑functional roles.

  • Stress‑test signals, challenge consensus, and tenaciously pursue evidence and proof from the market.

You’ll Love Working Here Because You Can

  • Have courageous team collaboration: foster difficult conversations, speak up, be an owner, and challenge ideas to find the best solution.

  • Deliver at epic scale: achieve simplicity with a focus on client happiness and productivity.

  • Be surrounded by curious learners: grow and elevate one another, stay agile, and learn from mistakes.

  • Act like an owner & doer: mission‑driven and committed to leading change, solving complex problems without hesitation.

  • Give back to others: support clients, the community, and ADP’s philanthropic foundation.

  • Join a company committed to equality and equity and making lasting change through actions.

Requirements

  • At least a bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.

  • 5+ years of firsthand research experience in similar roles.

  • Expertise across the UX research toolkit, from exploratory and generative work to rapid usability and evaluative methods.

  • Track record of delivering clear, actionable research in complex, highly regulated industries.

  • Demonstrated creativity and rigor in research involving emerging technology (ML/GenAI), willing to experiment.

  • Experience integrating GenAI/LLM tooling into professional workflows and staying current with the technology.

  • Proficiency with platforms and tools such as Figma, Dovetail, UserInterviews, Qualtrics, Maze, etc.

  • Precise, unsentimental, direct communication tailored to varying audiences.

  • Optimistic but skeptical; thrive on ambiguity and refine research plans using evidence.

  • Experience collaborating and influencing in distributed, multi‑team environments without friction.

  • Advanced degree in HCI, psychology, or related discipline is a plus but not required.

Compensation

Base salary ranges from $93,400 to $230,000 per year, with additional compensation such as bonus, equity, or commissions possible. Actual compensation will not be less than applicable minimum wage or minimum exempt salary requirements under federal, state, and local laws.
