Transport Communication Specialist II - Full Time

Facility and Role Overview

Dayton Children’s – Main Campus, Respiratory Transport Services. Full-time position, 36 hours per week.
Responsibilities

Responsible for the effective daily coordination and monitoring of transport services activities through timely and accurate dispatch and management of customer transportation requests. Maintains contact with transport team and documents status and current location. Enters, updates, and retrieves information from a variety of computer and recording systems. Operates a variety of communications equipment, including radio consoles, telephones, and computer systems. Ensures positive patient, customer, and transporter satisfaction, proper priority standard utilization, program quality standards, performance improvement, and personnel productivity. Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies and established policies and procedures. Assists other hospital departments with communications and coordination of critical services.
Department Specific Requirements

Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
Certification/Licensure: Paramedic certification in the state of Ohio required.
CPR/BLS certification required.
PALS certification preferred at time of hire; required within four weeks.
ACLS certification preferred at time of hire; required within four weeks.
EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operations) certification preferred at time of hire; required within two weeks.
Valid Ohio driver’s license required.
Minimum age 21 years.
Meeting all eligibility criteria for coverage under the hospital’s insurance policy.
