Community & Workforce Coordinator (Outside Agency Program Coordinator)
Job Summary
Department: Community & Workforce Development. This role supports nonprofit partners across Pima County, ensuring contracted agencies receive strong support, clear guidance, and consistent oversight. Responsibilities include gathering and analyzing program data, reviewing invoices and reports, monitoring agency performance, and providing technical assistance to partners. The Coordinator works closely with departmental leadership and is proactive, collaborative, and committed to high quality services.
Essential Functions
Coordinate and participate in specialized Community & Workforce Development program activities.
Conduct program activities providing urgent and compassionate services to individuals in need, in collaboration with other County departments and community partners.
Contribute to development of program goals and objectives, ensuring they are met.
Provide support and participate in daily activities essential to achieving program objectives.
Research, analyze, and report on program activities.
Coordinate and/or supervise daily staff activities, and perform necessary managerial functions in the absence of management.
Ensure programs remain on schedule, within budget, and functioning smoothly.
Write and submit grant applications, prepare solicitations, and review proposals.
Responsibilities
Collect and analyze program data.
Review monthly invoices and program reports for completeness, accuracy, and contractual compliance.
Monitor agency performance.
Provide technical assistance to help partners meet program and reporting requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration or a closely related field, plus one year of experience in health, human services, or a similar field.
OR one year of experience with Pima County as a Community & Workforce Specialist I or II, or a similar Pima County position.
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum 2 years experience in grant writing, grant management, and developing or issuing RFPs.
Minimum 2 years experience in data analysis, including collecting, compiling, and analyzing qualitative and quantitative program data.
Minimum 2 years experience planning, coordinating, and implementing training and specialized technical assistance for internal and external partners.
Minimum 3 years experience using ERP systems, web-based program or grant management platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Minimum 2 years experience managing the submission of reports, contracts, invoice processing, and expense reviews in accordance with organizational and funding requirements.
Licenses and Certificates
Valid driver license required at time of application.
Valid AZ driver license required at time of appointment.
Candidate subject to a 39-month DOT Motor Vehicle Record review.
Background Screening
