Our Lady of the Rosary is Seeking a Coordinator of Liturgy and Music (10 hours/week).

Job Description

Coordinator of Music

8 hours per week

Plans and coordinates liturgical music for rehearsals, masses, and other major celebrations.

Recruits musicians and instrumentalists

Acts as a consultant to parishioners planning sacramental liturgies such as weddings, funerals, and baptisms

Prepares parish music program budget as authorized.

Attends meetings relevant to the position, including meetings with the pastor, staff meetings, and various liturgical planning meetings.

Provides staff support and planning for Liturgy Committee.

Provides music for special services such as weddings and funerals, to be compensated at a special rate that is paid by the family.

Coordinator of Liturgy

2 hours per week

Attends meetings relevant to the position, including meetings with the pastor, staff meetings, and various liturgical planning meetings

Formation, coordination, recruitment, and training of liturgical ministry volunteers

Exercise related administrative duties to carry out a comprehensive parish liturgical program

Point of contact for sacramental liturgies including weddings, funerals, and baptisms

Ensure the upkeep of the sacristy, vestments, and other liturgical furnishings of the Church

Prepares parish liturgy program budget as authorized.

Qualifications

A practicing Catholic in good standing, with a deep commitment to the teachings of the Church.

Keen understanding of the depth of the Catholic liturgical calendar

Deep knowledge of Catholic liturgies

Strong organizational and communication skills, with proficiency in office productivity applications.

Proficiency in keyboard performance.

Knowledge of performance practice and of various religious styles and forms

Familiarity with vocal techniques and experience in choral leadership.
